Northern PikeTechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureSubmerged VegetationWent out Thursday and Friday for a few hours, and ice was barely holding on. Fished the weed line(~6-10ft) leading into a basin(~18ft). I generally setup in that ~10ft zone and panfish were definitely all over the place, as I would mark some coming from shallow(3-4ft) and others from deeper(+10ft). I did fish the basin a little bit(15-18ft), catching one baby walleye and marking another good fish but it wasn't as hot a bite as the shallow/dropoffs. Was able to get 2 pike to bite, one on the tipup and one on a Frostbite Dinner bell.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureSubmerged VegetationDecided to try the lake out before the season ended. I assumed they would be in the basins(20-30ft) but didn't mark anything after checking 2. I did find some good weeds and thats where they all seemed to be(<10ft). Had a good day catching sunfish, crappies, bass. Also saw a bullhead and pike/musky but no bites. The 1/32 or 1/8 Pinhead Pro tipped with minnows/wax worms were the best baits!

Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructurePilingsThe fall was tough, not many bites but you still can catch em. The most productive tactic was flipping a jig. Found most of the fish flipping around hard cover, concrete, laydowns, pilings etc. I paired these jigs with a craw trailer, and a beaver the colder the water gets. Keeping the trailers simple seemed to help, nothing with any crazy kicking action. Mainly dragging and hopping the jig worked best swimming it did not generate any bites.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThis here is my current pb largemouth and it was a dream to catch one of these at my age. Now imma talk about what I used and how I use it. I was using my Googan bait green series with Kastking megajaws, and had a 1/4 Googan bait grass hero swim jig green pumpkin with a 3.8 inch keitech white swim bait as a trailer. How I use it was punch or let my jig glide on those weeds and let that paddle tail do the work and make noise on those grasses and they would come up and ambush my lure.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationDuring the pre spawn try running a chatter bait under the bridges connecting Isles to the Chain of Lakes. Early in the morning can be good middle of the day is good to. Try and stick to the bridges because there is much less vegetation/sun.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLily PadsFishing emergent pad stems has been a great way to catch good numbers. Bites have come either paralleling the outside stems or casting into them, but keeping your swim jig in the middle of the water column is key. The only real pattern with this bite has been the sun. The higher, warmer sun later in the morning and early afternoon has seemed to create a more consistent bite as these fish start to pull up into warmer, shallower water with the sun.
