TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationAnother solid tournament finish fishing the deep diving DT10 in a bluegill pattern ripping it through and around outside edges. When the Crankbait bite would slow I’d follow up with a Texas rigged green pumpkin power worm from Berkley. In one day I boated over a dozen largemouth 2 of them measuring in at a hefty 18.5”.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationFishing a drop-shot around shallow targets and the edge of grass lines has caught good numbers with a couple quality fish in between. Small roll casts and flips have got the job done, the tighter you can get to cover the better.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationHad a tournament on the chain of lakes on 7-25. Isles produced a lot of smaller fish in the 14"-15" range. The winning bag came from Cedar. Key techniques for the anglers were flipping matted grass or using Texas rigged baits for the shallow fish. Fishing the deep weedlines with drops shots or deep cranks are what produced the bigger fish and the top bags. Recreational traffic on the lakes was heavy starting around 10:00 am.
