TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesBass fishing has been good here at Lake of the Ozarks. The brush pile bite continues to produce with the Crock-O-Gator COG worm on a light Texas rig doing most of the damage. I am using a 4/0 hook and a 3/8oz worm weight targeting brush between 10 and 20ft. There is also a shallow dock bite starting to develop up some of the river arms. Here I am using a 1/2oz Zapper jig in black/blue targeting docks in less than 10ft.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesOver the past 3-4 weeks, the bass at Lake of the Ozarks have transitioned into a late summer pattern. I am catching quality fish around brush piles at depths of 12-18ft using jigs and Texas rigged worms. Some of the baits that are working are the 1/2 oz Crock-O-Gator Zapper jig, the Crock-O-Gator COG worm, and the Zoom Ole Monster. On my Texas rigs I prefer a lighter weight, 5/16 or 3/8oz. This will help it come through the cover.

TechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructurePoints20JUL21 - 50MM The bass are biting well at Lake of the Ozarks. You can catch bass in the back of pockets that have grass with a buzzbait or a 10 inch worm. The best bite is on rocky points and bluff ends with the current flowing out of Truman and Bagnell full blast. Sunday the bite went to the brush as the water shut down for a little bit. They are still close to the points. When the feed is on its easy pickings of course. You can also catch walleye and crappie off the same points. Stay near the main river channel even thought there are shad everywhere. Pick your favorite areas and you can catch them, but the points are still best up the river.
