We found a cove protected from the wind. Water was very clear, the air temperature was 73 in the morning and warmed to 85 mid day. Water temp was 75. We were making long cast with the Gambler (speed) burner worm across mats of eel grass and hydrilla. There was also dollar pads coming up in the holes. Once the speed worm came off the mats into an open hole the bass would explode on it. When the grass was not topped out we would slow our retrieve so the worm would fall in the water column to about two foot below the surface. This is when we would get the best results. We caught fish from the 2 lb range to 6 lbs. The water depth was 5 foot.

Went out of the South Bay ramp. Caught my first bass on the Gambler 6” Fat Ace in Black/Blue with Blue Tip wacky rigged up against the reeds and arrowheads on the bank in the dynamite hole. Then caught the rest of my fish dragging a Junebug Gambler Burner Worm on a 3/16oz Woo Tungsten weight in lily pads. Biggest caught was 20” (pictured) missed a couple that could have been bigger.

It was a cool morning (mid 60’s) in October that warmed up quickly low 80’s. Threw the frog around the Kissimmee grass on the hard edges and holes in the middle. Clear skies water temp in the low 70’s. I caught 40 fish on the early bite. The biggest was 6 lbs. I caught her around 11:39 am.
