Fishing the winter time can produce giants. So many ways to catch them this time of the year like throwing a Gambler big ez or throwing swim jigs etc but my favorite way is punching Mats! I use a Dobyns 766 rod (stiffer rod with a nice tip) with a hawgtech 1.5oz weight with many baits. If it’s really cold and water temps get in the 60’s or below I use a Gambler bb cricket or crawdaddy, if the water temps get above 70/75 I use something with a little more action like a Gambler burner craw or stinger .

Summer Fission can be really good for numbers and an occasional big one. My favorite technique yes throwing a gambler ez swimmer over the Kissimmee grass or put a belly weight on it and swim it through the grass if the fish are not as active. If it gets tougher you can Texas rig a gambler fat ace black/blue on a 1/4-3/8oz weight and pitch it around.
