I fished the lake on 05/21/22 for the final regular season stop of the Inaugural season of the Collegiate Bass Trail of Texas. The lake had anywhere from 6 inches to a foot of visibility, and ranged in temperature from 78 to 82 degrees depending on which section of the lake you were on. It was partly cloudy outside with a strong southeast wind and temperatures starting in the mid 70's and warming up into the mid 90's by the end of the day, with a cold front coming through later that night. We were able to capitalize on a good shallow cranking bite in the morning on one of the bridges on the lake, and then were able to catch some deep cranking on a deep submerged roadbed bridge adjacent to the bridge later in the morning. After catching a solid limit there, we were able to cull up 2 times late in the day throwing swim jigs near grass lines in the back of a deeper creek arm, focusing on banks with wind and shade. Overall, our limit weighed 15.37 pounds, which was good enough for 8th place and locked up a 5th place finish for us in the Angler of the Year race for the trail. Below is a picture of our bag from the tournament, thank you everyone for reading and tight lines!
