This week there were quality bass, both laregemouth and smallmouth are in shallow water near rocks and riprap. Topwater search baits like Whopper-Ploppers or the Berkley Choppo 120 can work all day, and were all we had to throw to put together a limit of 3, and 4lb fish. Cast right up to the rocks, retreive at the right speed for that pop pop sound, and repeat. A few bass could also be found at the downriver end of Pepin hitting topwater in the sloughs, where there were wood and current eddies.
