First time fishing here. Targeting bass in shallow water. Caught a number of smaller bass and a ton of pike. Most fish came on 1/2 oz Jackhammer with swimbait trailer.

Had fish PreSpawn, Spawn, and Post-Spawn and they were moving all over the place. Focused on Sand drops and transitions outside spawning areas to catch our bag throwing a Carolina Rig in 2 - 5 ft of water.

spent time fishing Pool 4 backwaters for the MN Bass Nation Team Trail. Water was high, so main and secondary channels had a lot of current. Best areas we're off the secondary channels with minimal\no current but near flowing water. Most of the weekend was overcast and rainy with lots of active pike in the same areas as the bass. Frogs and Swimjigs worked around submerged or floating vegetation worked best for both species.

2nd stop of the team trail was out of Wabasha. We spend all of our practice and the tournament chasing post spawn largemouth. Falling water had us focusing on the clearer water areas with the thickest matted up weeds we could find. The frog was great for covering water and the All Terrain rattle jig picked up the biggest bites.

Caught smallies on the main river on rocky shorelines. Just about anywhere you could find rocks you could catch smallmouths. Lot of baitfish around from the spawn and they were eating those. Biggest 5 went for about 17 pounds.
