TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationCaught several largies & smallies targeting rock & grass areas with current with 1/4oz swim jigs & soft plastics plus some fish in heavy grass matts on frogs.

TechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationLow light and dirty water, grab a black/blue, black/purple jig! All my fish came on the outkast tackle stealth feider jig in black/purple. Dragging this jig around scattered vegetation and snapping out of the grass line was the trick today to trigger those strikes!

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureLily PadsVegetation becoming very overgrown so harder to fish through it clean with swim jigs/chatterbaits… switched to a swimming worm on a pegged Texas rig setup! Easier to fish clean and managed to get some good bites with it!

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonSummerStructureRip RapWas targeting Rip Rap and wing dams, also caught a few on a ned rig.

TechniqueHard Topwater (Walking)SeasonSummerStructureLaydownsGet out early! Had lots of fish activity, but they were not hitting any moving baits, tried some jigs and Texas rigs with no bites. Switched to the cover pop and worked it very slow pausing every couple feet as it walked back and fourth(note this is a popper, but when worked correctly it also walks back and fourth creating the ability to move it in the strike zone for a longer time). Started getting fish swirling on it, eventually they started hammering it with big topwater explosions! Good luck all!

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureHumpsCaught so many fish, and the biggest fish of the day on the swing head. Downsize the soft plastic to get more bites, fish along any rock, or transition areas like a crankbait, making constant contact with the bottom.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureFlooded BrushWith the water being so high you have to find a way to effectively cover and eliminate dead water, I flipped this bait up and down different stretches of flooded brush. Wherever I got bit I came back to the opposite direction with different baits and was able to narrow my fishing down to about a 50 yard stretch going back and fourth getting bit often! Switching between a bronco bug and then a more subtle trick worm.

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureMatted Grass2nd stop of the team trail was out of Wabasha. We spend all of our practice and the tournament chasing post spawn largemouth. Falling water had us focusing on the clearer water areas with the thickest matted up weeds we could find. The frog was great for covering water and the All Terrain rattle jig picked up the biggest bites.
