In the winter, the hot water coming out of the discharge for the nuclear plant warms the upper end of the lake significantly. The water temperature around docks directly across from the discharge will be in the low to mid 70’s. This is a very good time of year to catch numbers and to have fun. Skipping a shakey head under docks and pitching around isolated lay downs and stumps can yield 75+ fish days when the conditions are right.

After Hurricane Helene, it took awhile for the rivers that flow into reservoirs like Lake Robinson to clear. Still stained, but the natural Shad and Sexy Shad colors of the Chick Magnet show pretty well and caught most fish off of gradual points and near docks.
