TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationHad the opportunity to a couple of days recently and had success with a number of lures and techniques. Early morning saw the best success with the Berkley Bullet Pop and as the day progressed tried other techniques: spinnerbait and wacky rig with more numbers caught on wacky rig. Right now the spawn is in transition with some females starting to bed, males on beds guarding eggs and other males guarding fry.

TechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationHad great success this past weekend on topwater poppers early in the morning and Wacky Rig in the evening. Caught a 6 pack of LMB on the popper in 2 hours Saturday morning and 6 pack on the Wacky Rig Sunday evening. When working the popper, every fish was caught when we would briefly pause the popper after 3-5 twitches, didn't matter if we walked it or popped it. The poppers we used were the Strike King KVD Splash in Sexy Shad and Berkley Bullet Pop in Bone, both were 2-3/4" size.
