Smallmouth BassTechniqueUnderspinsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRock PileThe south winds were BLOWING and abusing me in my little kayak, but the water was crystal clear and I knew it was smallie time. I didn’t catch many, only caught 3, but the ones I did catch were TANKS. My smallest fish of the day was 3lbs. Targeted rock piles on the mile roads with my natural looking underspin and a finesse tube and caught some hogs. Saw guys catching more numbers fishing jerkbaits. Happy hunting!

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructurePilingsToday was partly sunny with high winds, coming off a storm front. The winds were creating quite a bit of chop and I was fishing off of the pier at Brandenburg Park in Chesterfield MI. The ZMan finesse ShroomZ jig head and the finesse TRD in coppertreuse made the perfect pairing to get on those post spawn largemouth bass. In two consecutive casts along the pier, between weedlines, I landed two beautiful three pounders back to back.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueTubesSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationHad a great trip to st clair, cought them doing everything from a black popper to a tube. Best things we found to do was early morning shallow flats with a popper or spook then layer in the day fish in 10 to 14 feet of water dragging a tube or Ned rig near isolated rock piles or edges of grass
