TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureRip RapA real slow presentation around any type of rip rap or cobble. The smallies were chasing spotfin shiners.

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsSlowly dragging a drop shot over rock shoreline and mouth openings in the river worked best. Pearl white minnow seemed to attract the most amounts of bites, they are a cheap bait as well and will last a long time.

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileFishing a off shore rock pile by dragging a football jig over it. Hardest part was not getting snagged in the large gaps but the profile of the jig helped to prevent that. Rock pile was stacked with smallmouth but size was lacking a little.

Walleye
TechniqueTrolling Mid Depth (10-19')SeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsWater is lowwwwwwwwww, so be careful when running your boats. Trees that I typically get snagged on are now visible above water. This also means there isn't much current, and is concentrating fish. Easier to troll and get down to the bottom, but a little harder to find em.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsWork a Ned rig along the rocks until you find fish. Cover as much water as you can. I found fish from tight to the bank to 18' of water. I especially look for water with rip rap or rocks with current on it, or rock with weeds nearby. Don't forget the early morning topwater bite.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureBouldersSmallies were feed tight to shore. Shakyhead and drop shot with a 6in roboworm and jerkbait helped us land over 20 fish within a couple hours. My 5 year landed his first smallmouth which quickly became his PB as the smaller smallmouths were getting to the bait faster then the biggins.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsLooked for main channel steep banks with rock. Water temps around 76 degrees. Fish were in 20ish feet of water. For weekend fisherman like myself get out there early. Boat traffic was intolerable after 1pm. Deadsticked the drop shot vertically below the boat. Slowly trolled between 15-25 feet. Even picked up a surprise walleye.
