Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureMatted GrassThey are spawning, but the water is muddy in most places. I made it up the Flint and the Houch and MOST is very dirty. If you find the cleaner water you will find fish. They are also bitting a Junebug Senko. Youtube: https://youtu.be/AOEPXnB0y0M Rumble: https://rumble.com/v4mpt0h-seminole-mar-2024.html

Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureMatted GrassWorking a Zman Goat ToadZ inside the grass is really fun. Any type of toad you have (or maybe even a frog) will do the job, but the goat toadz floats perfectly, which allows you to have a slower action. Also, zman's elaztech will guarantee you many fish with a single lure (toads usually get destroyed by large fish).

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThe warming conditions during the tournament played well to bass moving up to their spawning locations. I keyed in on slack water located near current, searching for shallow pockets in the grass. I was able to visually see bass because of the ripples they were creating in the shallow water. I would cast the A.T. Swim Jig up to them and work the bait by shaking it and keeping it at or towards the surface of the water. I also worked the bait around shoots that were leading to the back of the spawning areas that the fish were using as highways to get to and from their beds.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThe first day of the tournament I was able to blind cast to beds in a spawning area I located in practice. The conditions weren't quite right to have them pushed up during practice but I saw enough activity that led me to believe the time was fast approaching. The warm weather trend set this area up for bass to be there the first morning of the tournament. The key was being able to make long casts to marked areas that I though would have fish. I ended up catching several bass that filled out my bag on day one.
