TechniqueMedium Diving Crankbaits (7'-12')SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructurePointsWhen fishing a medium to deep diving crankbait it is important to have the right equipment. I always want to have a 6 speed gear ratio reel for deep cranking. If you don’t have a lower gear ratio reel you’re going to tire your arm out pretty quickly. I love throwing the Cloud 9 C10 and 15 on offshore points and humps. You can catch so many fish on one spot. When reeling it down and through the bottom, make sure you stop it from time to time. This is important if they are chasing it and not entirely wanting to commit. When you stop it in their face they will react to it. Lake Texoma is also pretty clear so if you need to size down your line 12lb might be better than the 15lb. You can catch largemouth, spotted bass and smallmouth on this technique. Good luck!
