I got out for an afternoon fishing session. The bite was a bit tougher this week, which I think could be attributed to the storms we had roll through the area the past week. A Finesse Jig and Pitching jig were my most productive baits over a spinnerbait, lipless, or chatterbait. When casting up onto rip rap banks the finesse jig seemed to be the bait. when targeting the drop-offs dragging along the weedlines or fishing docks the heavier pitching jig seemed to produce more bites. overall I boated around 5-7 or so fish, lost another 3lber at the boat on a botched net job.

The finesse jig is still working. I haven't seen any beds yet for early spawners, but the fish are most definitely up shallow. I only had about 4 hours to fish and boated around 10 or so bass. Most being in the 1-1.5lb range and a couple that were 2lbs or so +. The weeds are starting to grow up so casting the the bank and dragging it up to the weedline is what yielded the most bites.
