Fishing was slow. Was hot, muggy, sunny, and flat calm. The few smallies were decent sized though. Hot pink Mepps muskie killer produced most fish, including a 40 inch muskie.

Great time for first trip to this body of water .

We were met with hot, bluebird and calm days which made the shallow bite for us pretty slow. Our best bites seemed to be when we were chasing what little bit of wind we had and fishing a squarebill crankbait on main lake points banging it off the rocks. Certain points would be loaded with fish. The Mayfly hatch was pretty much wrapped up but a Midge hatch was underway - I'm not sure if that affects the Smallmouth fishing at all though.

Targeting shallow bed and fry guarders with a whopper plopper. Post spawn and smaller fish also on the plopper but in 3-4ft near beds, isolated boulders, and timber.

Bite was tough. High winds all week, air temp changed from 80 to low 60s, and a mayfly hatch. Only caught a few small bass. 1 to 3 lbers.
