TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWe worked offshore weed lines in 10-20’. We had to keep moving because not all the weed lines held fish. Most bites were on the drop.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureRock PileI would look for schools of bluegills and cast my drop shot into the middle of them. I would let it sink and then dead stick it and wait for a bite. If I didn't get one I would shake the rod or slow drag it so the weight bounced off the rocks. The fish felt like dead weight when they would bite.

TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructurePointsDeeper crank baits (DT 16 or 6XD in light colors, eg. sexy shad or bluegill) across or parallel to underwater points, the closer to a strong weed line the better. Jerk baits worked quickly but with medium pauses worked also in these same spots.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationBass are starting to make their way out to towards summer areas but aren't all the way there yet. Fishing thicker weed clumps and weed edges, let the Cover Scat sink all the way to the bottom and twitch it along slowly. Only need to impart a small twitch with your rod tip to get some great action out of this bait!

TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThis is my second tourney and caught some ok sizes. Biggest was only 2.99. Practically a 3.00 pounder. Most of the time we where out fishing the outside of the weed line, plus is was at least 10-15 mph winds we where also fishing and we catch them time to time bite was slow because of the wind. We fishing the eyes of the weed line and we’re catching 2ib maybe less and just punching through them.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationCaught most of our fish on the outside weed lines in around 12-15fow. Got a lot of bites on the fall in the morning with good cloud cover but as the sun came out we had to drag along the bottom.
