Points
Dragging 1/8 oz jigs and shiners along main lake points was most effective. Majority of fish were located between 7-12 feet. Long pitches away from the boat.

Reeds
Most of the bass in Winnie will be shallow this time of year. It is a large lake so start off with a swim jig to cover water. After you find some areas with fish you can slow down and flip a jig.

Use your electronics to locate schools of fish and drop down to them. Use your electronics to stay above the school and keep bouncing the jig a foot or two off the bottom. You can tie the mono to the braid and use a snap swivel the attach the jig to your line or use a short piece of mono about 3 feet long to attach to the braid to the mono and then tie to the jig Good luck!

Trolling spinners during a mayfly hatch is one of the best ways to put fish in the boat,. Use your electronics and find the clouds of mayfly off the humps and put a crawler or 1/2 crawler on and troll around the area at 1 mph-1.5 mph. I like to run at least 50 of line behind the boat depending how windy it is. The lighter the wind the further away from the boat you want to be. The fish will hit, let them have it for a few seconds before you set the hook. I use a braid and tie about 10 feet of 8 lb mono and then a good swivel to the bottom bouncer and then attach the spinner. I also like using line counter reels for this long line trolling but any walleye setup spinning or casting will work fine. Good Luck
