The jig worm and drop shot bite was going on the deep weed edge, just a basic 7" Power Worm on the jig worm and a Roboworm 6" straight tail worm on the drop shot. Key was locating the schools of sunfish, the bass were hanging just underneath them.

Pre-spawn/spawn 61°. Fished well with a white/chrome chatterbait around reeds and rock. A DT6 also came in handy as I went a little deeper near the same structure and got into some cabbage.

Fishing off main lake points and weed edges in 10-12 feet of water is where most bass were caught using the drop shot method. Although a large quantity of bass were caught over quality, I still had a productive morning on the water.

Use a 3/8 oz bullet tungsten weight with a 4/0 offset hook, and a black and blue craw trailer. Tokyo rig also works for these areas and helps keep lure off bottom. Keep your eye open for spawning beds.

Deep lily pad edges with offshore structure near dark kicked up the baitfish and made the jerkbait deadly. Quick 2-3 twitches with a 1-2 sec pause caused suspended fish to destroy the stunna. Fished it on a Dobyns DC 685 cb with 12lb mono.

I was expecting spawn/post spawn conditions due to 60 degree water, but I did not catch a single fish up shallow or out deep. All fish came out of 6-10 feet of water throwing a drop shot with a scented jerk shad or other fluke style baits. Using mega 360 to cast at spots in the grass flats that had less amounts of vegetation was the key to my success today. Never thought I would be throwing a drop shot during prespawn. Caught a few on the 6 inch magdraft but those fish were few and far between. Not sure if they are having a slow year with spawning, but I feel like last year at this time they were already done with the spawn.
