Fished sand flats in 8-15ft on the main lake using side imaging to find pods of fish on the flats. Snap jigging plastics on VMC mooneye jigs in 1/4 or 3/8oz depending on the depth. 12ft or less I used 1/4, deeper than 12ft I used 3/8. The best plastics were the Jackall Rhythm wag 3½" in SS Shad on a 1/4oz VMC mooneye in bluegill color. I was using a St. Croix Eyecon ML Extra fast rod with a daiwa excellent 2500 reel spooled with suffix 832 tracer lime braid and a 6ft leader of seagar invizX 10lb flourocarbon. Water temp was around 75 and it was fairly calm and hot out. There was a significant mayfly hatch

Small mouths in leech mostly live in the main lake south of the islands. Look for shallow rocks and sand mixture. I like to us tubs and small swim baits.

Leech is a big lake. So you really have to cover water and when you caught 1 realize where and try to find more spots like it. Start looking at shallow grass or any cover. I like to us a jig or a swim jig.
