Lots of good fish to be had up shallow this time of year. While there is a lot of great largemouth habitat around the entire lake, fish seem to hold in certain specific areas. Look for tight clumps, points, holes, patches, etc in the shallow cover as a good starting point. One great way to quickly locate these fish is by throwing a walking frog as well as a Teckel Sprinker Frog. I like to throw the Sprinker Frog around places where there is not rice, as the rice will get wrapped up on the tail. Around rice I opt for a walking frog. As far as colors go, white and black both produce depending on the day. The best way to find the right color for the day is just to experiment. Bring your heavy rods and line, and get back in the vegetation!
