I saw some fish busting on bugs on the surface. Honestly thought they were just carp as they’re getting ready to or are already spawning in the shallows. Decided to just make a couple bombs casts over the TALL cattails, because why not? To my surprise, a nice 3lber decided to blow up on my frog. Ended the night with a limit likely near 12lb. Awesome evening trip from shore!

I found some fat smallmouth that seemed like they were getting ready to spawn on the hard rock. The water was still pretty cold in the current being in the mid 50s, but that didn’t affect their willingness to eat. The ned rig came through and overall a great day on the river!
