Fish the edges of the duckweed with a big flipping bait, either jig or soft plastic. You may need to have up to an ounce weight to get through the thickest duckweed, but usually, a half-ounce weight will work great. You must have access to Macdill AFB to be able to fish here.

Throw around bedding areas starting near the bank and working it slowly until you get about 20 ft out from the bank. Use slow pops of the rod and let the bait sink to the bottom. Rinse and repeat.
