TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassStarted the morning throwing around a chatterbait and frog on the grass, caught some good fish doing that, moved offshore once the sun came up and realized there was a thermocline and I was able to catch a few offshore but it was a struggle.

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesGo fish every single brushpile in the lake and see what pulls back. I recommend using lead dropshot weights because you lose quite a few and tungsten is way too expensive.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesI wasn’t fishing deep brush piles but it was the visible ones in like 4-6 ft of water.(the piles came out of the water) Couldn’t get anything else going on this pretty hot day but flipping these got some bites. Couldn’t get em to bite a jig but flipping this D-Bomb around caught em. Was flipping a pegged 3/8 OZ WOO Tungsten Flipping weight to a 4/0 VMC Ringed HD EWG. I’m using a 7’ 3” MH Daiwa Fuego with a Daiwa Tatula CT 8.1. Using 30 lb Braid to a 20 Fluorocarbon Leader. I love flipping braid to a leader but its almost a necessity to use the FG knot, hands down the best!

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureFlooded BrushTournament today, caught almost 12lbs for best 5, couldn’t find those 3lb+ bites from the day before but caught way more fish than Prefishing, culled probably 15-25 times within the first couple hours, fish were stacked on wind grass lines near main lake points, catch them throwing a chatterbait and ripping through the grass, Texas rig, wacky rig, and a couple on topwater. As the sun came up moved offshore onto rock piles and found some schools on a deep crank but still all just smaller fish.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructurePointsPrefishing for a tournament the next day, caught 5 fish all day, 1 deep on standing timber. Then a front moved in and it got really cloudy and right before it started raining caught a fish on the main lake points, the fish were hiding in the grass and caught 4 over 3 pounds within an hour.
