The pike were hungry and action could be fast…but really came in bursts. We would go 20-30 minutes with a random fish, then… POW 8-12 fishing in just minutes. Bladed Jigs we’re best, but swim jigs, spinner baits, Ott Defo Slim 6’s we’re steady and even a few better fish on the old school Big Doctor spoon. This lake has been worth the trip 7 out of 8 times. Fishing in the river was steady as well.

Late June, Friday evening just a quick 2 1/2 hour trip. We worked the drop off trying to see weeds, but not to be deep in them. Chatterbaits worked well, as did spinnerbaits, spooks, poppers and buzzbaits. Maybe this night was just magic? But we were on fish constantly. If you want pike for a fish fry, you can do damage here! Tall tails of musky and some good crappie and walleye, we hear??? But the few largemouth we landed were very, very healthy!
