Bass were really shallow with the summer heat rolling in. Had luck dragging and quick twitching some craws across the bottom. Also had one blow up on a top frog if you don’t want to punch throw the thick grass. Fish on y’all!

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueInline SpinnersSeasonSummerStructureStanding TimberThis one is for the Acme Rattlin’ Spinmaster lure. Huge fan of this when I’m panfishing. It’s an in-line spinner and has a little torpedo filled with rattles that also spins. The sounds it makes from that spin drives the fish crazy. My go-to lure when trying to locate a school of fish. Caught about 5:00pm on the jetty. Super thick grass. Tried to cast just outside of the thickest stuff and let it fall. Drug it across the bottom and let it sit. This joker hit it right after the jig was sitting and it gave it a quick jump up. I can’t emphasize how thick the grass is. I have 40lb braid on with either a googan jig or 6th sense grass jig. Trying to tell the difference between a bite and being hung up is tough, but they are down there. Fish on y’all!

Casted parallel with the jetty about 5’ off the bank. Consistent slow retrieve and we found another hungry taco. Fish on y’all!

Showed up at dinner time and fished off the west jetty. Casting just outside of the thick vegetation line, I’d let the bait fall to the bottom and sit. Couple of pops and then let it sit. They’re down there in the grass if you can get to em. Fish on y’all

Anywhere along the bank, just outside the vegetation line, a couple hours before sundown; that’s when the bluegill are feeding. Small hook, small bobber, live red worms from Walmart. The worms worked really well at Lone Jack Lake, the kids even reeled in a few Overall caught a dozen bluegill, two catfish, and three bass; checkout my other reports for the bass at this lake. Everything eats a live worm. A couple hours before sundown the bluegill are feeding like crazy. An hour before sundown and the bigger fish come out to pick off the bluegill. This fat taco tried to steal my Walmart red worm, but those VMC hooks are stickier than their own good. Even the little #6s on some 6lb line held on to this guy.
