Lost Grove lake is fishing tough right now depending on the species you are targeting. Largemouth bass are probably the toughest to get to bite in these late summer conditions but there is a way to trick some into eating. For bass I have been flipping a 1/2 oz black and blue strike king hack attack flipping jig paired with a sapphire blue strike king rage craw as far into the flooded timber and bushes in about 8-12 ft of water. The majority of the bites in the shallower end of that range are coming at the bottom of the fall while in the deeper end of that range they are coming mid way down on the fall. I have found this is one of the only ways to target big fish in the lake. You’ll want to free spool the bait on the way down. This should yield better bites 2-5lb bass live in there. The hardest part is staying consistent with the technique and not giving up.
