Went to Mackenzie Reservoir to try Jigs for the first time. Definitely something I have to work better at although I did have some success. The best spot to throw a jig here is just off the south side of the road splitting the reservoir in half. Lots of rocks to pop jigs off of as well as plants to provide structure for the bass. Black/Blue and any form of Green/Brown Jig is all you need and you can mix/match the trailer colors. With the Chigger Craws I would bite off 1/3 of an inch before putting it on the hook. I ended up with 3 fish on jigs.

Tons of Crappie, Bluegill, and Perch at Mackenzie Reservoir just about everywhere on the lake. Best way to catch them is with a plastic grub on a 1/32oz jighead, or you can go to a 1/16oz if it is windy. The 3/4” T-Rips also work great. Cast out in the areas with the long grass/reeds in the water and retrieve the lure as slow as you can. Another method that worked very well for the crappie specifically is letting the lure drop to the bottom, reel in a bit, let it drop down again and repeat.
