Working them over thick vegetation produced many fish in the 16" range. This allowed me to place in the top ten in a loaded field.

Crappie
TechniqueCrappie Sniping (Casting/Single Poling)SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureOpen Water/BasinThe crappies seem to be scattered in all depths right now on Madison. I found a couple of deep schools with smaller fish in them - 20-25 foot. I was able to catch a few as well in 10-12 foot. Haven’t had much luck shallow yet but haven’t given it enough time. Water temps seem to be between 49-52 as of April 27th
