TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationStarted fishing at 8 am and the water temp was 68 degrees. Tried a ned rig with only a few small fish in shallow water 2 to 4 ft. Then tried a couple different square bills without any action. A jerkbait only caught a couple of small fish also. Went to the drop shot for the first time this season and started to catch them. The zoom trick worm was getting the job done. Tried two colors of zoom worms and the green got the most bites. The flat worm did ok but were too costly for fun fishing. Ended the day with a 20 in largemouth that was pushing 5 pounds. Had somewhere around a 13-pound bag, 5 fish limit.

TechniqueHard Topwater (Popping)SeasonSummerStructureLedgesFish were holding to shade early in the evening, but water temps in the mid 80's made them pretty lethargic. Lots of half hearted hits on wacky worms, t-rigged stick baits but no quality fish until the sun started going down. Once the sun was down, top water prop baits and poppers started firing off really well and caught some quality fish.

TechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationAfter several days of rain, I knew the bite would be slow especially in the middle of the day. I haven't ever fished a Neko rig before but it seemed to be what I should try. I caught a 15 in bass out of a hole in the weeds in about 6 ft of water. It ended up being the only fish I caught even after going back through that same area with a couple different baits. Time was short so I didn't fish any longer. At least I wasn't skunked.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksWater conditions were hot, and water clarity was nil. Got ~3" of rain the day before and the lake was really high. There were a number of docks that were nearly submerged or completely submerged. There were a lot of wake boats and pleasure craft running as well. Caught one keeper on a chatterbait somewhat early and then caught two good ones off of docks right at their ladders in about 5' of water with a wacky rig. Had a LOT of small fish during the night though. Some on wacky, some on jerkbait, some on chatterbaits. Our weight was 7.7lbs, with the bigger bass being 3.63lbs. Winning weights were 9lbs to 10lbs, and big bass was 3.71lbs.
