Fishing is tough on Mantrap in July, but not impossible. Largemouth were caught in a variety of ways in all areas of the lake. There seems to be no discernible pattern. Bass were chasing swim jigs, crankbaits, topwater frogs, and bladed jigs. A majority of fish were caught in 8-12 feet of water and submerged weeds with drop shot rigs.

Fish pads, reeds and areas near to these that also contain standing vegetation. Tip with 4 inch paddle tail. Bluegill colors seemed to work best.
