Largemouth were munching the jig on the weedlines around 16ft. Slowly popping the jig over the submerged vegetation produced over 75 fish from 2 pounds to 4 pounds. Moving baits like a DT10 also fired up the schools of fish.

July 18, 2021; Warm mostly sunny and very calm; Water temp. 79 degrees F. The bass bite was a bit slow during our little club derby, but several of us caught decent fish on a drop shot. The winner and runner up averaged just under 3lb per bass. I had very few bites on the bottom. TX rigging a worm on a dropshot rig allowed me to work the bait in the weeds and not just on the outside weedline. Bass were caught both in and outside the milfoil and curly leaf pondweed, near points or inside turns. Let the weight sink to the bottom and wait half a minute. Drag a few feet and repeat, then try another cast.

Most of the bass were positioned outside the far weed edges on hard bottom. Usually 15-20ft. Started with big hair jigs and jigs but after that bit died down fished a drop shot really slow. Good size and number.
