Smallmouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBouldersMy buddy and I headed out on the kayaks to do some bass fishing. We fished most of the lake and found some areas still had spawning smallmouth bass. We used dropshots and ned rigs. Casting them onto the beds from a ways away. Using an anchor to keep us still and polarized sunglasses so we could see the fish. We would cast repeatedly until you would find the "Hot" spot on the fish's "bed". Sometime they would eat it right away other times you had to let the bait sit and shake the rod to vibrate the bait to get them to eat. A great day with quite a few fish caught some being over 19' all immediately released back to the beds unharmed.
