TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileTopwater bite is best mid day when the shade pockets are the smallest. Slack water with shade and a storm chug bug will produces better quality fish. To catch numbers 1-3 foot rock with slower current and a ned rig or small tube has been best. The bigger smallmouth sit in 3-8 foot slack water when not feeding and are harder to get to bite.

TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsI tried ned, topwater and wacky with little luck. When I switched to the tube I started catching the SM. Caught an 18", a 17", and several smaller ones on the tube. Just drag it on the bottom.
