Minnows
Had about 10 fish over 15”, but nothing bigger than 4 pounds. Fish were shallow, not tucked into cover. Just fishing the rocks and trees in current in shallow water. Best came on spinner baits and whopper plopper. I like the terminator T-1 chartreuse with a cupped gold Colorado blade. Really grassy out there so had to be a weed less bait.

Members of Minnesota Kayak Fishing Association (MNKFA) hit the river about once a month, floating from St Cloud to Clearwater. Topwater is everyone's go-to, especially on summer mornings. Ned is also a favorite with blue or green hue trailers. The best bet for casting is into shaded areas, standing wood, or deep spots along the shore. Watch for steep hills along shore which can often lead to deeper areas just off-shore.
