Locating bedding bass and areas of transition will yield the best results. Fish the shakey head slow and remember at any point a bass could be looking at. Fishing the rip rap scattered about the lake can be a good way produce nice bags. Points near spawning areas can also be great for catching quality bags as well. Natural and bluegill-esque themed colors will work best, but confidence is key so play around with your favorite colors

Monticello is an interesting lake that is a lot like a fishbowl. Offshore structure is limited, but that tends to group the fish much better. Points scattered about the main lake can yield the best results when using the ned rig. The TRD worms can be swapped for small swim baits and can sometimes catch more fish. On the points fish can be caught from 4 to almost 30 feet depending on clarity and time of year. Fish slow and methodical as this technique is by design a proven catcher.
