Spotted BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonWinterStructureDocksIt's still cold, but an area of low pressure came through. Couple of warmer days and the fish have come in shallow to feed. Suspending over any grass that survived the winter, sticking to rocks, and under docks in the sunshine.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureStanding TimberFished around submerged trees working the outside. Water warming up and fish seemed to hone in on the larger blade in dirty water.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonWinterStructureFlooded BrushShakey head was the key today. Dragging it along bottom slow and a few twitches here and there. Fish came unglued.
Species
Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonWinterStructureLaydownsSpent time dragging a neg rig. The floating baits seemed to draw more bites than the baits that didn't float. Dragging past laydowns produced the most bites.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonWinterStructureFlooded BrushCasted parallel to the bank and fished flooded brush and wood. Largemouth hit as the Slobberknocker got caught on the submerged brush.

Spotted BassTechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonWinterStructureLedgesWater is pretty cold and murky right now. The fish are pretty deep, feeding off the points early in the mornings. I had a lot of luck with the deep crank, lots of small fish even went for it. Make contact with the bottom and cranking it slowly seemed to be the trick.

Spotted BassTechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonWinterStructureRip RapIt's best to get out early, I had the most success right at sunrise. Cast out the jig and count it down. Tick the tops of the rocks as you reel it back. Tick, tick, Thump!

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureHumpsFish were very active today, up the river, all the way to the dam. Had the most luck fishing current breaks and humps in the river. Cast out your speed worm, as soon as it hits the water start your retrieve. Keep it nice and slow and maintain bottom contact. Also use as small of a weight as you can as a larger weight will get snagged more.
