The size hasn’t been there yet this year, however the numbers are up. I absolutely love the Daiwa Elite P/F reel, I use it to flip into cover, but will also use it to make full casts. Such a great reel.

Had a nice day fishing with a dirty jigs 1/2 ounce swim jig in blue gill, with the always popular Strike King Rage Craw trailer. Caught several 1-2 pound bass tossing into lily pads, varying my retrieve.

Seems like most people on my lake only fish the shoreline, they are missing out on a lot of quality fish by not fishing deeper. Also, big fan of the 2023 Daiwa Tatula Elite Randy Howell 7’2” Universal Spinnerbait rod as my bladed jig rod. Very sensitive for a rod at its price point. I’ve done very well the last couple weeks with both. Casting into weeds 10-15 feet deep and letting them take it. I’ve got several quality fish and it’s been a blast.

We fished jigs slow and managed to pickup a good amount of fish. Stuck on the steeper banks. Not bad for our first time out on the lake. We will be back again
