Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationIn the summer months at Newton I like to look for vegetation that is near deep water. So I look for grass or cat tails along a bank that is close to a drop off. I find that fish often hold in the vegetation and like to be able to get to deep water. My goto rig is a texas rigged worm 7' in either a culprit fire and ice or berkley tequilla sunrise. I like a 1/4 oz tungsten bullet weight.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLaydownsWorking the laydowns near secondary points offered a lot of activity. Shakey heads were best around the laydowns and the chatterbait was best on secondary points that were open with no cover, lots of shad chasing going on. They were shallow in about 2ft of water and showing lots of signs of pre and spawning activity. Water temp was ridiculously warm, we launched in the hot arm and I stayed in that area and water temps were ranging from 76- 79 degrees, all the way up the hot arm was reporting 80 degree plus temps. Cold arm was producing a lot more for the other anglers in the club that went that way. The wind was blowing about 10-15mph S to SW.
