TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureReedsHot and windy day out on the kayak. Started the day throwing a swim jig, then switched to a chatter bait, but caught most of the fish in a Rapala DT 6 fire craw crank bait. Slowly cruised it next to the reeds up shallow near the islands.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWe went out on opener for a few hours, the water temp was 64-65 and it seemed like bass were already off beds and in post spawn patterns. Most fish were caught throwing an evo with a live magic shad trailer on a flat or outside weed edge and bass would hit it on the pause after ripping through vegetation. Other bass were caught on a ned and a jig

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureRiver ChannelsTook the kayak for a late evening outing. Tossed a wacky rig and tube jig at shallow points around the island for a couple of hours without any luck. Saw some fish on my graph in the main lake channel and decided to throw the slobberknocker with green pumpkin Razor ShadZ trailer and hooked into a handful of LM bass right away.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureDocksI was out a few days ago. conditions were rough on the water, lots of boat traffic as well as high winds made trolling and trying to hold position difficult. We managed to catch a few large mouth bass while we were out. Flipping over hangs, shade lines, and pads produced a few small to medium sized ones. (4/0 EWG hook, Rage Bug Blk/Blu flake, 1/2oz bullet weight.) We also caught a few smaller ones throwing an under spin and a swim jig in front of the weed lines. Some things I would've changed is use straight braid line instead of fluro when flipping. The cover is thick this time of year and easy to get wrapped up in when your hooked up.
