My approach is to long-line troll stickbaits until I find a pod of fish/bait. Then I'll set up on that spot and vertically jig Rapala Jigging Raps, Fire Tiger, Chrome, and the classic black/white all work well. Pay attention to your graph, being just 5 feet off from the pod and you won't get hit. Spot lock is super helpful, or just adjusting for your drift.

Dropshot rigs with plastics and fathead minnows are on fire right now when you find the schools! Look in 15-25 fow anywhere on the south shore. Also did some walleye trolling flicker shad baits in 18-30 fow.

Used a BPS silver 2.5" blade bait in the east end canal after dark. Using 10 lb Power Pro braid with a 12 lb Seaguar fluorocarbon leader rips the blade bait best having no stretch in the line and allows for solid hooksets. Rip the bait up 3-4 ft then allow it to swim back to the bottom before ripping it again. Caught several walleye over a 2 hr span, but only one over the 15" minimum.
