Had a great morning of fishing. Caught well over 20 bass in about four hours of fishing. Was fishing new water, conditions were perfect for frog fishing. It was cloudy and calm. Started the morning fishing a Spro Bronzeye Frog 65 in Sunfish as I figured there would be a good deal of males fry guarding. I was fishing the frog on a Denali AttaX 7' 4" heavy fast rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 casting reel paired with K9 60 pound "8" Strand Dyneema Super Braid. Early in the morning it was partly cloudy so that's why I went with the sunfish color frog. But as the morning progressed it became mostly cloudy so I switched to a Spro Bronzeye Poppin' Frog 60 in Midnight Walker. Fishing floating matts of vegetation and flooded water willows.

The holes in the grass have been producing some really giant bags. This giant came working a speed worm style bait through the offshore hydrilla

Fished Orange Lake for the first time yesterday. The bite is tough as the fish have received a ton of pressure over the past month or so and are in the post spawn funk. Spent the majority of the day trying to cover as much water as possible and piece together a pattern as to what specific type of cover the fish were relating to. Spent the morning throwing a Spro Bronzeye Poppin Frog 60 and an Untamed Tackle Punisher Swim Jig with a Zoom Super Speed Craw trailer. Only managed to catch one on the swim jig and had another fish miss the Spro Poppin Frog. Other than that it was a real struggle. Fishing should get better in the next week or so.

I was fishing pre and post spawn fish in a hydrilla field. I used a swimjig to cover water quickly and efficiently, and to find holes where fish were staging. The speed of Using a 8:1:1 reel and short pauses on the retrieve was the key to getting the larger fish to bite

Jumped in our Xtreme Bass Series divisional event to try our hand at a hot lake. Struggled most of the day, missing a solid fish on topwater early in the morning. Made a move to sparse offshore hydrilla and started throwing a Magnum Hit Worm around. Caught a 4.5 and a 5.5 in about 15 minutes, losing another fish in the same area. It ended up taking over 35 pounds to win the event, anchored by an almost 11 pound lunker.
