Caught this 18.5 inch Smallmouth on the inside edge of a bend in the river dragging a ned over and around rock piles. They were orienting downstream of marker buoys hugging the bottom. I was casting upstream and working downstream with the current. Simply lift your rod tip and reel in the slack. Had one shortly after this bite as I was reeling to make another cast right at my kayak.

The bass were holding near deeper water, I would throw my hover rig close to shore and twitch it back to my boat. The bass were hitting the hover rig when it would stop twitching.
