The key was finding current and rock piles in 6-10feet of water. I would through a Ned Rig upstream above the rock piles and let the Ned Rig drift over the rocks. The bite was coming on the back side of the rock piles.

I was catching smallmouth in 6-12 feet of water slowly dragging a green pumpkin ned rig near rocks.

The smallmouth were very active in the current near rocks. The two main baits I used to put 15 smallmouth in the boat were, the Berkley Finisher and the Z-man TRD. The smallmouth were in 3-6ft of water.

We didn't get 100 yards from the boat ramp and caught 3-4 nice smalmouth bass
