Docks with wood posts were key. Although few and far on this lake if you found them you could get a decent bag. Smallmouth and largemouth were both present with the largemouth being the most consistent.

Have to spend some time running the numerous points and look for grass in 7-12 feet that is still alive. You can use a crankbait or your electronics to find it. Usually it will have schools of bait close to the edges. Burn a crankbait over the top and if it gets hung give it a quick snap. They would hit as hit ticked the grass or on the snap. Numerous bass in the 3-5 pound class were brought to the boat along with a few Tiger Muskies.

Buzzbait up shallow over submerged grass was the deal early on in the day. Was also throwing a horny toad and had many blow ups but the fish missed it every time.

Cast from deep water onto the shallow points early in the mornings and hop the Jigging rap about 3 feet at a time and let it fall back to the bottom is producing Walleyes (3-6 pounds) that are feeding on the yearling perch. This technique will also occasionally pickup a 4-5 pound smallmouth and some big perch 13-15" range.

Outside weed lines adjacent to deep water or inside weed lines adjacent to docks would produce fish. When you found one multiple would be in that same area. A painfully slow presentation would do the trick. Cast into the edges and just let it fall, if it got hung up on the way down give it a little shake and let it fall all they way to the bottom. Let it sit for 20-30 seconds and repeat.
