Largemouth Bass
TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureStanding TimberLate summer morning and the bite was tough offshore. Found some largemouth on tree stumps close to deep water. Caught a warmouth as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this bait performed let it jsink shake the rod, lift and drop, then watch your line. You can see the line jump when they took it. Definitely recommend braid to leader as it will help when watching line. Stay fishy and tight lines!

TechniqueSoft JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationMichigan lakes are choked with vegetation in the summer and that’s where the fish are. Fishing that submerged grass can be challenging. I like to stay on top of it by fishing a lightly weighted weedless fluke. The Houdini color from Zoom imitates bluegill perfectly and the twist lock hook from owner helps me not tear up the nose on flukes with every fish. If you like to fish flukes you need to try this combo out. Tight lines!

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationNot much action. only 3 largemouth a smallmouth and a perch were caught. the smallmouth came in 15 feet of water the rest came in 4ft or less. The smallie came on a drop shot rigged with a d-worm wacky hooked. The first largemouth was on a d-worm on a weighted wacky hook and the second largemouth was on a Manns wake bait, chrome and blue. My buddy caught the last largemouth on a twin tail Yamamoto skipped under a dock. His perch also was on a drop shot black flat worm. We fished from 7:30 to 1:30.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThe lake was sprayed for weeds recently and was experiencing an Alge bloom. Fishing deep only produced small fish on the drop-shot. The best fish were shallow, 2-4ft of water over the top of weeds.

TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesStorms had rolled through earlier in the day and it was really windy (15+ constant with 20+ gusts). There was a lot of jets ski's and wake boats churning up the lake as well, and visibility was very low. No more than 2'. Caught an early smallie in about 10' of water on a crank bait. We followed a ledge at around 8' with a decent amount of grass and started pulling very fat 13" to 13.5" bass off the grass line (1.5lbs+) but only managed to put 2 more keepers in the boat.
