The fish were staging up for spawn off of weedy flats. They were in 6-8feet of water. They were in the best weeds that were avalible to them this happened to be cabage. When u found one there was bormaly others with it!

The warm weather had smallies moving shallow. We caught them on jerkbaits in 2-8 fow on flats with boulders and scattered rock. Megabass Vision 110s in French Pearl and GG Kincuro were the ticket when the wind blew. When it was calm, an Outkast Perfect Ned with a Z-man TRD Tickler mopped em up. My son caught his PB smallie (5.4 lbs!) On the Ned.
