Seemed like the points of the lily pads that had current or wind had the most activity. Could see them chasing baitfish so also pulled a spinnerbait through the open lanes. 🐸 🎣

Fishing main channel rock points and rip rap that had the right current and baitfish held quality smallmouth and largemouth. Fishing topwater plugs, both walking and popper style worked. Being able to make long casts with the Seaguar Smackdown braid was key.

Fish were schooling in eel grass chasing shad. frogs worked the best in a white color.

Managed to Catch them on a chatterbait down the grass lines and a wacky rig (smallmouth were hard to find but lost a 4.5+ on wacky rig and caught a few small ones deep cranking the rocks still), Texas rig on the grass points or in grass pockets or when on the rock areas.

Fishing was very pretty decent on the river and I found myself tossing a spook around smallmouths chasing shad. If you could get your spook right where they are blowing shad out of the water within 5 seconds you could most likley catch em.

Me and my son went out fun fishing. We got out mid day and were throwing the shower blows and Berkeley choppo down rip rap. Mostly main channel stuff but got a couple around wing dams also. Bone color shower blow and sexy shad choppo.
