Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsWith the hot temps the water is warming up again and the bite was slow. With the shallow water the vegetation is thick in some areas. The lily pads were holding some quality bass but they were very spread out over an expanse of cover. They can be seen breaking the surface occasionally and are very aggressive when a lure is thrown near them. Hollow body frogs, horny toads and buzzbaits are working. Smallmouth can be found in the usual spots, behind current breaks. A Texas rig thrown near the cover with find some smallies. Not a lot of size but they are aggressive.

SpeciesLargemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassWe were able to catch fish that were very keyed in on the baitfish by throwing a chatter bait at them, most of our bites came out of the grass though, throwing a wacky rig and on the edges and a frog and swimming as far into it as we could. Frog produced very well in the afternoon right before weigh ins.
