Fish the jerkbait aggressively, similar to how you would for bass with minimal time between pauses and rips. Not uncommon to catch multiple fish using the same cast as they are schooled up.

Caught a good amount of smallmouth during the day dragging a dropshot on wing dams. Then caught a good amount on a whopper Plopper in the backwaters at night by shad I could see busting.

Caught a decent amount of smallies on wing dams with the BFL rig and then caught a bunch of fish on topwater in an area with a bunch of shad grouped up just not a crazy amount of size.

Boat was in 12-15' of water. We mainly hit rip rap banks, some with wood. The most quality came from the areas were the rocks came out farther into the water. Slow fishing a stupid tube by far produced the best quality, a jig and wacky did get some to. We did lighten up the heads to 1/8oz as the current slowed. When the current was gone the fish seemed to also be gone. Points were not great but fish were there.
