Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStanding TimberLargemouth are also moving up and starting to find areas to bed, unfortunately the water is very stained in a lot of areas so it’s hard to see the beds. A good way to find them or to find staging areas for us was throwing a zman jackhammer with a white frizz and a square bill around flooded timber or current seams on the outside of spawning ares

Smallmouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStanding TimberBass were spawning at the base of the flooded trees. It wasn't easy to find the right trees but when you did there would be several bass spawning in the area. The beds were not visible so sometimes repeated casts were needed to the trees that looked the best. This pattern led us to a 6th place finish out of 79 on the Minnesota Bass Nation Team Trail event out of Winona last weekend.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStanding TimberThe first team trail event out of Winona was a wild one. Falling water and a warming trend had the fish in all stages of the spawn. We focused on slack water spawning areas and current seams for all of our fish. The ned rig was our top producer but we also caught some fish on the jerkbait

Smallmouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureFlooded BrushMN team trail stop #1 We fished spawners in flooded islands near current with deeper water near by and also fished the bank in secondary channels focusing on Eddy's and laydowns. Anything that would slow down the current.

They sometimes won’t bite a jig or commit to it so throw back in with a wacky rig to clean them up!
