Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Walking)SeasonFallStructureRiver ChannelsFall on the Mississippi River the bite has been awesome. With low water conditions it's tough to get around to places but with not a lot of current it's easy to maneuver on your trolling motor. Looking for current breaks on wing dams, backs of sand flats, and any eddy. My number one bait by far was a Topwater walking bait, especially for finding fish. Sometimes you needed to slow down with a fluke or a swimbait, but almost all would eat a topwater.
