Smallmouth are moving up to start bedding. We were able to find some deep in a cut along rip rap bank. They sometimes won’t bite a jig or commit to it so throw back in with a wacky rig to clean them up!

The first team trail event out of Winona was a wild one. Falling water and a warming trend had the fish in all stages of the spawn. We focused on slack water spawning areas and current seams for all of our fish. The ned rig was our top producer but we also caught some fish on the jerkbait

MN team trail stop #1 We fished spawners in flooded islands near current with deeper water near by and also fished the bank in secondary channels focusing on Eddy's and laydowns. Anything that would slow down the current.
