Fished in a tournament recently and stuck to the sloughs in the north part of pool 9. I caught 6 bass all day and lots of pike. Got a couple of fish on a Thundercricket with a Zako as a trailer all of my other fish came ripping a Red Eyed Shad through the grass.

Found northern pike and largemouth pushing shad up on shallow mud and sand flats in river channel bends. The most productive areas had lily pads along the shoreline. Caught most of the fish on either an Outcast Tackle Pro Swim Jig with a Z-man Diezel Minnowz as a trailer or with an Owner flashy Swimmer with a 3.8 or 4.8 Keitech in shad patterns.
